From a small idea to a worldwide leading organizer

INTERKULTUR president Günter Titsch in dialog with the Hessian Broadcasting Corporation

On Saturday, February 13, 2016 INTERKULTUR President Günter Titsch will be heard live in the cultural radio channel of the Hessian Broadcasting Corporation (Hessischer Rundfunk, Germany). In the hr2-broadcast "Musikszene Hessen" (music scene in Hesse) Günter Titsch will talk about the development of his idea to unite the world in singing together and the milestones in INTERKULTUR's history.

Starting in 1988 with the first International Choir Festival in Budapest, the organization INTERKULTUR has grown up to a worldwide leading organizer of choral competitions, with 159 international and also Hessian events until today.

Beside information about the association INTERKULTUR, Günter Titsch will bring hearing impressions of choirs from all over the world in the broadcast. The recordings are from choir competitions and festivals in different countries.

"INTERKULTUR regards itself not only as organizer of international choir competitions but rather as institution, which unites people in joint singing and thus in peace," explains Günter Titsch. "I would like to give insights in our work to the listeners as well as invite them to a musical journey of choral music around the globe."

The broadcast "Musikszene Hessen" reports about the latest activities of the musical scene in Hesse, offers backgrounds about cultural organizations and institutions and introduces Hessian music ensembles. The presentation of the broadcast on Saturday will be handled by Christiane Hillebrand.

For all interested people outside the Hessian frequency range the Hessian Broadcasting Corporation offers a Livestream for listening.
