The choir competition’s opening day brings bright sunshine to Vienna

Franz Schubert Choir Competition

The sun is shining in Vienna, and welcomes 15 participating choirs from 11 nations that followed the Austrian capital’s call to this year’s 30th anniversary of the Franz Schubert Choir Competition.

Prior to the great opening concert which marks the official beginning of the event tonight four international choirs met for a Friendship Concert in the Lichtental parish church, also known as Schubert Church.

At first the female voices from the choir D’accord from the host country Austria welcomed their international guests. Their performance was followed by participating choirs from South Africa, Philippines and from Denmark. Especially the performance of Regina Coeli Choir from Philippines attracted the audience by quality and entertainment. Check out a video on Facebook!

They all presented the best of their musical skills and gave an excellent foretaste to what can be expected for the next days.
