“Sing’n’Pray” to choral sounds from all over the world!

Second edition of Sing'n'Pray Kobe in January 2020

Sing'n'Pray Kobe

Singing and praying - these two central elements of "Sing'n'Pray Kobe 2020" will form, as in its first edition in 2018, the centerpiece of the festival and international choir competition, which will take place from January 16-20, 2020 in Japan’s sixth largest city and capital of the prefecture of Hyōgo. The common prayer and singing for the victims of the earthquake and tsunami in the area around Fukushima in 2011 and peace in the world have been a tradition since 2012.

In the category Music of Spirit & Faith, children's and youth choirs as well as adult choirs will participate in a peaceful competition to present the choir traditions from their respective home countries to the Japanese and international choir community. In addition to the contest, there will be educational events and Friendship Concerts on stages all over Kobe. Registration for this unusual Japanese choral experience, which inspired 21 participating choirs from 8 nations last year, is still possible until September 9, 2019.
