Inspire the world through singing

A short introduction of the choir "Chorona Buseck e.V."

Chorfest Watzenborn-Steinberg

"It’s Thuesday evening: Voices, hugs, chair-moving. About 50 people have gathered in the Brandsburg in Alten-Buseck near Gießen and are standing together in groups. They talk and laugh. A short time later it becomes quite in our rehearsal room and the first tones start to sound – the choral rehearsal of Chorona begins. The choir consists of talented beginners that have chosen singing as hobby during their university studies as well as experienced singers aged from 25 to 45 years.

The singers of Chorona Buseck show that choral music can carry and inspire the audience with an impressive varied repertoire. With pieces by Mozart or Rammstein, Gospel, Folk Songs as well as modern works such as choral pieces by Whitacre or most recent hits like “Hanging tree” by Jennifer Lawrence and “Happy” by Pharell Williams Chorona presents the full range of choral music.

Following the participation in the 3rd International Choir Competition in Spain, where the choir achieved several golden diplomas and the highest rating, this year’s national competition in Pohlheim is on the agenda. In fall 2016 the choir will also attend the International Choir Festival and Competition in Prague.

Despite the competition feeling in 2016 the singers will also perform in annual Christmas concerts in Gießen and Buseck, which attracts more than 1.100 people every year.”

INTERKULTUR is pleased to listen to the young voices of “Chorona Buseck e.V.” in Pohlheim in a few days! There they will compete as Women’s Choir and as Mixed Choir.

More information about the choir can be found on the website and on their Facebook fan page.
