Registration deadline extended to June 13
After last year’s first successful festival in Greece INTERKULTUR brings now the choirs to another Greek destination: Corfu. From October 12-16, 2016 the cute island in the west of the Greek mainland will be more colorful than ever. Numerous of choirs have already registered for the 1st Corfu International Festival and Choir Competition and will make the 585,312 square kilometers large island with traditional choral music from near and far resound.
Corfu is known as popular tourist destination. Especially the announcement as UNESCO world heritage of the old town of Corfu has made the island to a crowd puller.
Despite all touristic trouble the small island never lost its unique charm. The historical towns are perfectly surrounded by lush green forests. Also at the choir festival on Corfu the singers will have the chance, to discover the flora and fauna off the tourist paths. INTERKULTUR offers different Friendship Concerts all over the island and thus provides a platform to get to know the musical traditions of other choirs in the open air.
Besides the Friendship Concert the choirs will also have the opportunity to attend the jazz workshop "Sing Free" with the US American Avant-garde vocalist Jay Clayton.
