The State Theatre is the stage for the new category C28 – Open Repertoire! A wide range of South African choirs compete here at 10:30 and 15:00 with a freely chosen repertoire of music which gives consideration to the characteristics of African choral music. The music to be heard includes African choral compositions, opera chorus excerpts and excerpts from Oratorios.
The full competition program for the new category can be found here.
Also it's time for a visit of the World Choir Village – meeting place for choirs, guests, choral music lovers and locals and a good opportunity for an offhand choir session with like-minded people from all over the world! Enjoy African handcraft and great local food in an relaxed atmosphere. The entrance fee of R50 is a donation for the beneficial Departments of Arts and Culture of the City of Tshwane and supports their development program.
