Great news for the World Festival Singers: The new INTERKULTUR project for individual singers named "Songs of Our World-Tour to Russia 2016" will also give a guest performance in the world-famous Mariinsky Concert Hall in St. Petersburg.

The Concert hall of the Mariinsky Theatre belongs to the most popular Concert Halls of the world and is directed by the Russian conductor and artistic director Valery Abisalovich Gergiev.

Located in the cozy Inner City of St. Petersburg the Concert Hall is the center for international musicians, singers and conductors, only a few walking minutes away from the Mariinsky Theatre.

After a fire in 2003 the concert hall has been rebuilt to a modern complex for operas, Symphony Concerts and other stage formats. Based on the historical original the neogothic façade has been reconstructed by French architectures as far as possible. Massive relief wood panels decorate the interior of the Concert Hall. The idea and implementation of steep parquet offers an all-around unique listening experience for 1100 guests. Not least of all the acoustic is due to the Japanese Yasuhisa Toyota, who achieved worldwide prominence through international projects such as the Walt Disney Hall in Los Angeles.

For all participating singers of the "Songs of Our World-Tour to Russia 2016" it is a unique opportunity to perform in this legendary concert hall. Beside the Mariinsky Concert Hall in St. Petersburg the project choir will present the songs of the world also in the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall in Moscow and in Sochi.
