Finnish choir joins the European Choir Games

European Choir Games 2019

Musta lammas – ”Black Sheep” is one of the top class choral ensembles which will represent its home country, Finland, the Grand Prix of Nations Gothenburg 2019 & 4th European Choir Games from August 03-10, 2019 in Sweden. The singers will compete in one of the event’s most favourite categories Jazz, Pop, Show with a variegated repertoire ranging from Anssi Kela to Justin Timberlake.

Musta lammas is Finnish for “black sheep”, pointing at their position as groundbreakers within the Finnish choir scene. The choir, founded in 2016 and led by Ida Olsonen, combines a passion for rhytmic music with high-leveled musicianship.

After bagging several successes at international choir competitions in the US, Finland and Denmark not only for their performances but also e.g. for the most innovative arrangement of their own original song called ”Katse” , the 23 singers from Helsinki are set to reach for gold also in Gothenburg. Their secret recipe for success: All of Musta lammas’ music is custom written for the group and varies from original songs to tasty re-arrangements. The group is specialized in so-called rhythmic music, meaning pop, jazz, rock, blues and funk - to name a few.
