Gothenburg opens its stages for singers

Choirs from all over are invited to perform in Sweden’s second largest city

When in August 2019 the Grand Prix of Nations & 4th European Choir Games will happen in Gothenburg, Sweden, singers from all over the world are welcome to join this amazing choral celebration and prestigious competition.

Gothenburg will open some of its finest stages for the singers and provide excellent competition conditions and a great singing experience in front of a panel of adjudicators, consisting of renowned choral experts from all over the world.

The event’s main hub will be Artisten, Gothenburg’s Academy of Music and Drama teaching subjects like music, composition, opera and music staging.

It is located in the very center of Gothenburg with the Gothenburg Concert Hall, the Gothenburg Museum of Arts, the Gothenburg City Theatre and the Swedish Exhibition & Conference Centre only a few steps away. Artisten’s beautiful concert hall is called Sjöströmsalen, has almost 400 seats and a stage with space for a complete symphony orchestra. Besides Sjöströmsalen, there are further smaller halls next door which can be used for competition performances, rehearsals and workshops. The Grand Prix of Nations Gothenburg 2019 and 4th European Choir Games promise to gather hundreds of amateur choirs worldwide for a unique experience combining great singing opportunities, challenging competitions and wonderful Friendship Concerts.
