Sing in Spring!

Haapsalu Kammerkoor is the first participating choir in Málaga

Canta en Primavera - Festival Coral Internacional

Spring in Málaga does not only stand for nature's awakening but is also symbol of many-voiced singing of choirs from all over the world. One choir already registered for the choral festival Canta en Primavera – Festival Coral Internacional in the Andalusian metropolis: the Haapsalu Kammerkoor from Estonia.

The chamber choir was founded in fall 2006 and is situated in the seaside resort town of Haapsalu. The choir is made up of 35 singers and its repertoire is very wide, including sacred and secular choir music, contemporary and classical music, as well as other works of Estonian composers and choir music from all over the world. The choir’s chief conductor is Ulrika Grauberg who is assisted by Regina Triebstock.

For the Estonian singers choral competitions aren’t new territory. The Haapsalu Kammerkoor has already participated twice in the Nordic-Baltic Choir Festival: in 2008 (Estonia) and in 2010(Iceland). In the spring of 2009 the choir took part in the popular singing competition "Laululahing" on Estonian TV. Numerous of successful participations in competitions such as the Estonian Chamber Choir’s Festival and the International Choir Competition and Festival Budapest followed.

INTERKULTUR already knows the singers of Haapsalu Kammerkor. In June of 2015 the choir participated in the 5th Int. Anton Bruckner Choir Competition in Linz (Austria) in the Mixed Choirs category and was awarded a Silver Diploma.

We are pleased to welcome the singers of Haapsalu Kammerkoor in the Spanish city of Málaga!
