On Stage in Israel

Singing in Tel Aviv, Haifa, and Jerusalem

ON STAGE

Last weekend, the ON STAGE series started with a premiere event in Israel (March 15-18, 2018). With almost 900 singers and 38 choirs from 4 nations – not only in Tel-Aviv, but also in Haifa and Jerusalem – this was the biggest event in the ON STAGE series so far.

On the very first day of the event, the choirs had the chance to explore the Holy City of Jerusalem and a Sing Along Workshop which was held in Kfar Saba and conducted by maestro Yair Klinger. The evening included the official Opening Concert where the participating choirs were more than thrilled to showcase a few choral highlights from their country of origin.

On Friday the choirs enjoyed a relaxing morning in the beautiful Bahia Gardens in Haifa followed by two Friendship Concerts at the ST. Joseph church and Beit Ha-Hesed church.

Worth mentioning are also musical meetings held in the Kibbutz with two local choirs, where choirs got to know the history of the Kibbutz, shared musical moments and tasted delicious local food.

The event was concluded in the magical Bell Cave at Beit Guvrin National Park, one of the most unique and special venues of ON STAGE so far. The concert ended with all the international participating choirs singing together ‘Shalom Aleichem’, a piece studied during the workshop, and which proved to be an amazing performance plucking the audience’s heartstrings and getting standing ovations.
