More about your hosts for Voices & Wine Alba 2020
Voices & Wine is a new non-competitive event series by INTERKULTUR. The first editions will take place in Alba, Italy (April 15-19, 2020) and Málaga, Spain (November 18-22, 2020). Each event will be shaped by a Guest Conductor and by an Artistic Host to provide participating groups with an excellent singing program, along with great wine and food tasting.

Guest Conductor: Maestro Jürgen Faßbender, Germany
During the last years Jürgen Faßbender achieved with his choirs numerous 1st prizes at renowned international choir competitions in Great Britain, Italy, France, Czech Republic, amongst others, and won the German Choir Competition (Deutscher Chorwettbewerb) several times.
He is a member of the Federal Music Committee of the Hessian Singers' Association, the Choir Association Rhineland-Palatinate, the Literature Committee of the German Choir Competition and the Association of Professional German Choir Conductors.
Since 2012 he has been working as a co-editor of the popular choir book series "Reine Männersache" edited by Peters-Verlag, Frankfurt.
He is an internationally renowned juror, guest conductor and clinician and since 2008 Artistic Director of the Hesse State Youth Choir. In 2012 he was appointed to the World Choir Council.
Host Artistic Director: Maestro Willi Becker, Germany
Willi Becker is an experienced chorus and orchestra conductor whose wide knowledge and experience as lecturer and juror has been greatly appreciated by festivals and competitions all over Germany and beyond.
Holder of a scholarship from the state of Rhineland-Palatinate, Willi Becker studied from 1970 - 1974 at the University of Mainz. From 1977 to 1981 he studied school music and music sciences at the University of Koblenz. He was the director of the State Youth Choir (1985-1995) and the State Music Academy (1995 to 1999) of Rhineland-Palatinate. From 1999 to 2016 Willi Becker was music coordinator in the "Kultursommer" of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate.
He drew much of the inspiration for his choral work from the master classes he attended, among others with Eric Ericson, Robert Sund (S), Robert Shaw (USA), Bob Chilcott (GB), Simon Halsey (GB), Frieder Bernius, Volker Hempfling and Wolfgang Schäfer (D).
Willi Becker has enjoyed many successes with his choirs at national and international choral competitions, such as winning the first prize at the 4th German Choral Competition in Fulda. He was also artistic director of the Europa Cantat Music Commission 2006.
