Spirits rise even before the start
Choirs spread the choral feeling throughout Tshwane
The 10th World Choir Games have not even started yet, but the choirs spread their high spirits already throughout the city. Once arrived they can’t resist entering the airport Johannesburg with a spontaneous singing performance, receiving ovations by the much-surprised audience.
The Coral Cantus Firmus choir from Brazil set the choir village in motion with a singing and dancing session that brought the village visitors and singers alike to their feet.
And when the Iyakoko Patea Choir from the Indonesian island of Papua-Neuguinea finally reached their accommodation in Tshwane, they received an unexpected choral welcome by the staff of the Jasmyn Residence at Hatfield Campus (University of Pretoria).
And also the international jury has arrived safely and is in high spirits!
What a great choral prelude for the upcoming days!
