The Müller Chamber Choir

From Wernigerode to Sochi

The Müller Chamber Choir will participate in the World Choir Games 2016

Choir Spotlight

INTERKULTUR is pleased to introduce some choirs, which will attend the biggest choral event worldwide: The World Choir Games in Sochi 2016.

Today we would like to present a choir, whose performance is very much in our mind. During the International Johannes Brahms Choir Competition & Festival 2015 the Müller Chamber Choir achieved three Golden Medals in the categories Folklore, Sacred Choral Music and Male Choirs. Furthermore the choir won the Grand Prize of the whole event. With this great competition result we are even more delighted to welcome the Müller Chamber Choir as participant of the World Choir Games in Sochi.

Founded in 1999, the Müller Chamber Choir is a male-voice choir from Chinese Taipei that aims to introduce the finest blend of male choral sound to the choral scene. Under the direction of Meng-Shien Peng as Conductor and Artistic Director since 2012, the choir has achieved prestige as one of country’s foremost choral groups.

The Müller Chamber Choir aspires to the celebrated male choral tradition and delights in exploring its infinite artistic depth. Within its sixteen years of existence, the choir has performed a wide range of choral works and experimented extensively with the choral arts with all its versatility. In recent years, the Müller Chamber Choir has taken upon itself the mission to create a repertoire that is distinctively national, and has garnered generous support for its efforts. By commissioning talented native composers and critically-acclaimed authors and poets to lend voice to diverse and multifarious aspects of the island, the choir invites the audience through its concerts to travel to lesser-known spots across the island and embrace cultural traditions.
