Double Gold for next host country of the World Choir Games 2020

Show Choir Rise Up from Belgium shows epic performance

World Choir Games 2018

They couldn’t make it to the World Cup Finals, but Belgium is still a winning country: The next host country of the World Choir Games 2018, Flanders/Belgium, and its Show Choir Rise Up became double Category Winners in their respective categories Female Choirs and Scenic Pop/Show Choirs. Although it was the first time for the group to take part in the World Choir Games, the thorough preparation and the intensive rehearsal work paid off and so the girls and their conductor Karin Lauwers returned home with two Gold Certificates. “We were overwhelmed by the results (of) our first participation ever”, Ann Vanduffel from the choir mentioned. “Our Girls have enjoyed every single minute of the WCG.”

Maybe Belgium will have the luck to welcome back another successful choir which performs currently in the second part of the World Choir Games. The Jeugdkoor Waelrant enters the Champions Competition for Musica Sacra a cappella and Mixed Youth Choirs. The results will be announced tomorrow at 20:00 at the Award Ceremony – stay tuned to be up-to-date!

In 2020 Flanders in Belgium will host the 11th World Choir Games. The historic cities Antwerp and Ghent will both organize the world’s biggest choir event and are looking forward to welcoming choirs from all over the world from July 05-15.
