Deutsche Chormeisterschaft 2020
Planning for the Deutsche Chormeisterschaft makes progess
New impetus for the German choral scene: In 2020 INTERKULTUR in cooperation with the city of Koblenz is organizing a national choir competition for the first time. With a new competition concept over three rounds, the Deutsche Chormeisterschaft 2020 grants an exciting choral weekend in Rhineland-Palatinate that will inspire choirs and audiences alike.
Despite the worldwide covid-19 pandemic in 2020, the organizers are actually confident that the event will take place and, after months of restrictions affecting choirs worldwide, there will finally be an event and experience of community for the German choral scene in November.
In addition to the competition in the categories Mixed Choirs, Male and Female choirs, Children's and Youth Choirs, a top-class festival program provides numerous musical highlights such as an Opening Concert in the Basilica St. Kastor with the chamber choir of the Singschule Koblenz and the renowned ensemble "amarcord" from Leipzig.
The partnering city of Koblenz is centrally located and easy to reach by participating choirs from all over Germany. The concert venues are situated in the city within walking-distance and make anybody able to easily follow the concerts and competitions.
You are cordially invited to join us in Koblenz in November! The German Choir Championships offer the German choir scene once again the opportunity to meet, to mingle and to enjoy the joint choral experience.
