Swedish spring and Scandinavian choir sounds

Helsingborg's International Choir Festival in May 2020

Helsingborgs Körfestival

Musical gift idea for choir fans: From May 27 - 31, 2020 the second international choir festival will take place in Helsingborg. Helsingborgs Körfestival brings together singers from all over the world in one of Sweden's oldest cities. Until the registration deadline on January 13, 2020, choirs have the opportunity to register for the competition and/or festival and get to know the special flair of Scandinavian and international choral music in Sweden.

As a special highlight, the Swedish vocal ensemble VoNo will enrich the event with a workshop and a concert of top-class Nordic choral art. The ensemble was founded in 1999 by the Danish conductor Lone Larsen and consists of 12 professional singers. The repertoire of VoNo is varied, including works from essentially all periods of music history, with special attention to Nordic, contemporary and improvisatory music.

Open minded towards new timbres, VoNo combines a pleasant light blend with surprising and ventured sounds. Repertoire and programs are selected with great care, and encompass a wide span of musical and human expression. This interesting variation together with the desire to transmit the music through a scenic presence brings attention and curiosity to the audience.

In addition, the 2nd Helsingborgs Körfestival offers Evaluation Performances and Individual Coachings, International Friendship Concerts and 12 different categories for participation in the competition. Last time 20 choirs from 9 different nations were attending - adding their very own cultures, music and special sounds to the event.
