Unfinished but immortal
Mozart's Requiem comes to life in a Sing Along Concert in Vienna
Requiem aeternam dona eis, Domine - the joint performance of Mozart's Requiem unites about 600 participants from 20 nations from November 15 - 18, 2019 for the SINGERS IN RESIDENCE - Sing Along Concert Vienna in the music capital of Austria. Already for the fourth time passionate choir singers meet for an unusual project, which this time takes place in cooperation with the Wiener Singakademie and also includes the participation of the original sound orchestra Barucco and several soloists as well as the Singakademie. The Wiener Singakademie is the choir of the Vienna Konzerthaus and looks back on more than 160 years of history as well as a groundbreaking cooperation with important partners and conductors and represents an important part of the Viennese cultural scene as a lay choir with professional standards.
In addition to rehearsals in the traditional Mozart Hall of the Konzerthaus Wien, the main venue of the Vienna Symphony Orchestra and the Vienna Chamber Orchestra, which are conducted by Heinz Ferlesch, the program also includes joint activities such as a Heurigen evening and a dinner with all singers. On November 17 at 15:00 h all participating musicians will meet at the Konzerthaus Vienna for the grand finale, the performance of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Requiem in D minor (KV 626) for solos, choir and orchestra.
