International choirs sang for spring

24 choirs from 14 nations made the Salzkammergut bloom and resound

Int. Choir Competition & Festival Bad Ischl

Five outstanding festival days in the beautiful Salzkammergut have passed. During the 13th International Choir Competition and Festival Bad Ischl 2016, which was held from April 30 to May 4, 2016, 24 choirs from 14 nations, including China, Estonia, the Faroe Islands, Japan, Italy and South Africa presented choral music from all parts of the world. Altogether 23 golden and 16 silver diplomas were awarded. We congratulate all choirs and ensembles to these great results!

Around 1000 singers turned Bad Ischl into a sounding and intercultural center and attracted visitors to numerous of concerts. The response was consistently positive from both the audience and the choirs. Also the weather changed at the end of the festival on Wednesday – spring was back.

We also created a video playlist on Youtube with some beautiful impressions of the concerts. Numerous photos can be found on Flickr. Have fun watching!

Finally, a big thanks to all choirs, conductors and volunteers that made the festival a big success. We would be pleased to meeting you again at one of our events – perhaps at the 14th edition of the International Choir Competition & Festival bad Ischl in 2018.
