Excitement for the 4th Asia Pacific Choir Games during press conference

In less than 3 month the international choral world will meet in Colombo, Sri Lanka, to celebrate another choral highlight of the year - the 4th Asia Pacific Choir Games and Grand Prix of Nations Colombo 2017. For the first time this event will take place in South Asia and the excitement about this was shared during a press conference, that took place in Colombo earlier this week. During this well attended press conference the Minister for Tourism Development Hon. John Amaratunga gave a speech and stressed the importance of cultural Tourism for Sri Lanka and the positive image effect of such an event for the country.

Mano Chanmugam, Chairman of the Colombo Cultural Hub Trust said, “This week long competitive celebration will be held in a South Asian nation for the very first time, and we at the Colombo Cultural Hub Trust are delighted to partner with INTERKULTUR to bring it to Colombo. We are confident that this magnificent festival will not only be a center of entertainment and competitions, but provide a platform for multi-cultural exchange, especially for our youth.”

INTERKULTUR Vice President Stefan Bohländer highlighted the opportunities for local choirs to experience from international participants and to attend workshops with international renowned choral experts.

During the festival, which is being hosted by The Colombo Cultural Hub Trust, in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau and INTERKULTUR, Colombo's Choral Music lovers will be privileged to experience a week-long festival of choral competitions, friendship concerts and workshops with international choral experts. Thus, also participants can look forward to numerous highlights and the Sri Lankan hospitality!
