World Choir Games 2018

157 participants – the biggest choir until now, which has registered for the 10th World Choir Games 2018 in Tshwane, South Africa, comes from Germany.

The Singout Gospel Mass Choir is conducted by Silas Edwin, whose passion for gospel singing already brought 1250 singers on stage at the ÖVB arena in Bremen, Germany in 2013. Due to his roots in Nigeria and his father’s profession as a priest Silas Edwin got in touch with gospel singing already at an early age. When he came to Bremen he was determined to convey the joy of singing together with many other people in a mass choir. And this idea of moving masses led to his current projects of organizing mass choir projects in German cities such as Kassel, Frankfurt and Aachen and uniting up to 200 singers in a strong-voiced choir. The new aspect of this idea was not only the number of singers performing but also the participation of international soloists and a professional gospel band.

The Singout Gospel Mass Choir is one of these projects and registered for the popular categories Gospel and Spiritual. Although the singers already gathered experience in 2014 at the World Choir Games in Riga, Latvia, and the European Choir Games in Magdeburg 2015 they will have to face strong opponents on stage next year.
