Sing'n'Joy Provo

March 16 - 20, 2016 Provo/Salt Lake City (UT), USA

The American International Choral Festival

After the spectacular success of the 2012 World Choir Games in Cincinnati, INTERKULTUR is now working to spread this enthusiasm to other destinations within the United States. In 2016 the choirs of the world will sing together in Provo, Utah.

Bearing the slogan “Singing and Joy”, the Sing'n'Joy Provo will be taking place from March 16 to 20, 2016. The Sing'n'Joy concept also includes concerts and manifold encounters between the participating choirs. In addition Conductors and Singers will be given the chance to attend master classes held by international choral experts and why not enjoy the beauty of the Utah valley, a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts!

The competitions will be taking place in the Covey Center of the Arts and Brigham Young University will open their De Jong Concert Hall for the Opening and the Closing events.

One of the highlights of the event will be ensembles from BYU Choral Department presenting their highest quality of choral singing in the Grand Opening and maybe also on other occasions during the festival.

On Sunday, March 20, the choirs will have the opportunity to visit Salt Lake City and to sing there together with the world-famous Mormon Tabernacle Choir! Experience as a highlight and closing of your stay in Utah a worldwide live broadcasted TV show at the Temple Square of "Music and the Spoken Word" and a Sing Along with the Tabernacle Choir!

Come and join INTERKULTUR in Utah and celebrate with us this international festival of choral music in Provo!

"The Provo event promises to be exceptionally exciting, culminating in singing with the world-famous Mormon Tabernacle Choir in Salt Lake City. Featured also are the acclaimed choirs from Brigham Young University."

Morten Lauridsen, USA

"The preparation for a competition applies for a success for many choirs, because the rehearsals on a special work run in a concentrated and on detailed way. This workflow contributes for a rising quality in my choirs. So I just can commend to gain the chance and sing at „Sing’n’Joy” in front of the Jury and also join the magnificent atmosphere of an international choral festival."

Jan Schumacher, Germany

"Combining Utah’s stunning mountain and lakeside scenic beauty with competition judging by outstanding choral adjudicators and numerous master classes, “Sing'n'Joy” will be a richly rewarding experience for singers and conductors alike."

Morten Lauridsen, USA
