Winners of VOICES FOR PEACE 2019 announced

VOICES FOR PEACE

There are two INTERKULTUR choir competitions and festivals running this week in Europe: Choirs gather in Riga, Latvia and in Perugia, Italy to sing in a peaceful competition and celebrate the joy of singing and international encounters together.

This afternoon, the results of VOICES FOR PEACE were announced in Perugia, Italy. A total of 12 Golden, 6 Silver and 3 Bronze Diplomas were awarded by the international jury. The best choir of the competition became Sibelius High School Chamber Choir from Finland by achieving a total of 27,06 points in the "Youth Choirs of mixed voices" category as well as two further Category Wins in addition to one Conductor Prize and another Special Prize for the choice of repertoire.

Two Conductor Prizes were awarded to Reijo Aittakumpu from Sibelius High School Chamber Choir (Finland) and Yang Song from the Children's Choir of Shenyang Daily (China). Sibelius High School Chamber Choir also achieved a Special Prize "for the homogeneity and harmonious choice of the program".
