Learning and Singing with INTERKULTUR

Exciting pedagogical programs with choral experts from all over the world

INTERKULTUR News

Pedagogical proposals belong to INTERKULTUR events since its beginnings. So Evaluation performances, Individual Coachings with international choral experts and workshops for choirs and conductors are important elements of many choral competitions and festivals.

Also for the upcoming events in 2016 and 2017 we have invited outstanding experts as jury and clinicians from different musical fields.

VOCES8 is one of the notable ensembles. During different workshops the British vocal ensemble will work on various aspects of vocal health and sound quality with the singers. The highlight of the event is the joint performance of all participating choirs with VOCES8 at the Closing Concert of ON STAGE Frankfurt.

Paul Smith, ensemble member and founder of the VOCES8 method, will also join the 10th anniversary of the Johannes Brahms Choir Festival and Competition Wernigerode 2017. As juror and choral expert he will provide valuable tips and advices for the participating choirs.

Nicolas Fink and the Berlin Radio Choir belong to the partners of INTERKULTUR, which actively promote musical education. During the Grand Prix of Nations Berlin 2017 Nicolas Fink and the Berlin Radio Choir will work with 120 amateur singers in a workshop dedicated to the German composers Josef Gabriel Rheinberger and Heinrich Schütz. The workshop results will be presented at the Kammermusiksaal of the Berlin Philharmonie.

Meeting experts of jazz and pop music

Also aspects of popular music are examined in detail at numerous INTERKULTUR events. Especially during the 1st Corfu International Choir Festival and Competition 2016 singers will be encouraged to sing free, to see their voice as experiment, in order to improvise and to compose spontaneously. The jazz workshop "Sing Free" is led by US-American jazz and avant-garde vocalist Jay Clayton.

During the Golden State Choral Trophy 2016 in Monterey Vijay Singh, renowned American musician, composer, teacher, conductor and clinician, will teach on Vocal Jazz and Pop Group singing including repertoire, technique, rhythm and other style elements.
