Celebration Singers ON STAGE in Stockholm

A Swedish-American exchange

ON STAGE

The Roane State Community College Celebration Singers from Harriman, Tennessee, were recently ON STAGE in Stockholm and had an amazing time. The group of young singers met the Swedish Nikolai Chamber Choir, conducted by INTERKULTUR’s Artistic Director Christian Ljunggren and another choir composed by two classes of the world famous “Adolf Frederik’s Music School”.

Visiting the Adolf Frederik’s Music School the Roane State Community College Celebration Singers followed the two choirs on their normal daily routine and were really impressed by the technique of the teachers and the high quality of the alumni.

Following a workshop on the next day the group performed the ON Stage Concert in the magnificent Stockholm Cathedral, also known as Storkyrkan and located just in the old town of central Stockholm and the oldest church in this area. The performance became a complete success and very well received by the audience!

Music Coordinator of the Roane State Community College Celebration Singers, Dr. Geol Greenlee was enthused by the experience and stated after the concert tour: “The time in Sweden was very well organized with great events, sightseeing, concerts, lectures, and history. We especially enjoyed our time at the Music School.”

The next On Stage event will already happen this weekend in Barcelona, Spain. In 2016 and 2017 there are many destinations for choirs to join and experience musical exchanges with local choirs from the European metropolises. Learn more here!
