The young singers from Russia want to expand their medal collection in Sochi
We are pleased to introduce some choirs, which will attend the biggest choral event worldwide: The World Choir Games in Sochi 2016. The following choir comes from the south of Russia.
The Choir "Lira" was founded in 2000 in the children's music school of Abakan city and consists of 45 boys and girls. The young singers are highly motivated and sing in concerts in the city of Abakan and the Republic of Khakasia.
The Choir "Lira" has successfully participated in numerous INTERKULTUR competitions, including the 5th World Choir Games World in Linz (2008), the 6th World Choir Games in Shaoxing (2010), the 12th International Choir Competition & Festival in Riva del Garda (2012) and the 8th International Johannes Brahms Choir Festival and Competition in Wernigerode (2013).
In 2016 INTERKULTUR will welcome the young choir and the conductor Nina Shekeryuk once again. As participants of the 9th World Choir Games in the Russian Sochi the singers will have the chance to expand their medal collection and to gather valuable experiences.
