Testimonials

“For a year, I would like to rest first from teaching choirs here in the Philippines. By early next year I will already move to California by then, so I am going to say goodbye to my dear AUP Young Voices, which also became part of who I am now as a choral director. God bless INTERKULTUR in the coming event in Shaoxing. It was really a privilege joining the World Choir Championships in Korea. Getting the top prize in 2nd Asian Choir Games was to me only secondary. The experience that my children’s choir had, was already a treasure sculpted in their heart forever. And I thank God for using me as a blessing to these little ones. I’m keeping you always in my prayers. Cannot join 2010 but hope to see you again in the US by 2012 World Choir Games.”

“I expect that more choirs from the Far East, Asia and Asia-Pacific region would participate in the forthcoming World Choir Games in Shaoxing (China), including Turkey, India, Tibet, and Guam, among others. The participants can experience all of the art and music and talents from each other. It is particularly important for children and young singers to join in the experience of singing with so many nations. Love and care for one another/ brotherhood can be built and achieved through music making and singing.”

“I was in Xiamen, as both jury member and also participant with two of my young choirs. It was a fantastic event - well-organized, very colorful and full of local culture, many good choirs to see and hear, many places to visit and things to do. I have no doubt that Shaoxing 2010 will be just as exciting and eventful, and I hope to bring some of my choirs to the World Choir Games next year - so that they can be part of the excitement, to sing, to hear, to learn and be inspired by their surroundings.”

“We in Myanmar face a very different situation; we would like to see the world, so me and my choir group tried so hard in five years to be connected to the outside world. Now we have been to Japan and US and we can transfer a different and better message about our country to the world, other than any media say. So we would like to meet the musicians from around the world in Shaoxing. It’s not far from us, and it’s really important for me to let my students perform on international stages. It’s a big chance for them to see all countries. I think there is no other chance to make this dream possible – only through music.”

“Due to the unavoidable circumstances that the World Choir Championships in Korea had to be cancelled midway, we as Shillong Chamber Choir representing India were proud to be in the competition but saddened that it could not be completed. But the support from every member of INTERKULTUR has been outstanding and beyond words now. The arrangement done and the complete coordination has been an eye opener for our Ministry and the Government of India. The work done by INTERKULTUR is world class. We remain ever grateful to you and all members of INTERKULTUR to have done so much for us because India was participating for the first time.”
