TV entertainment ideal for choral music

Munich media professional supports INTERKULTUR strategy

TV entertainment formats offer an attractive platform also for choral music. This was underlined by the German music and media manager Hans R. Beierlein during an exchange of views with INTERKULTUR President Günter Titsch.

Entertainment programmes on television would reach huge viewing figures and get attractive slots at most broadcasting stations. Hence, they are especially suitable for the effective mediation of choral music, Beierlein stressed during the meeting at the beginning of March in Munich. Titsch informed the producer and TV expert, who is extremely successful in Germany, Austria and in Switzerland, about current projects and events of INTERKULTUR, particularly about the forthcoming 6th World Choir Games in Shaoxing, China.

2008 Beierlein had been invited by Mr. Titsch to Graz, Austria and got a personal impression of the world's biggest choir competition: The 5th World Choir Games had been held in the metropolis of Styria two years ago.
During their discussion, Beierlein and Titsch described the TV show "We are the world", which was produced by the Austrian broadcasting station ORF in cooperation with INTERKULTUR in Graz 2008, a typical example of the illustration of manifold choral music on television. It could be trend-setting for other TV projects which are currently initiated by INTERKULTUR.

In the German entertainment and show scene Beierlein's name is connected with style-defining trends since decades. He leveraged a row of German-speaking interpreters like the Austrian Udo Jürgens. In 2008, Beierlein received a significant media award for his lifework.
