Popchor Mainstimmig

Choir from Frankfurt will be guest in the singing city Pohlheim

Chorfest Watzenborn-Steinberg

From June 17-19 the small town Pohlheim, well-known through its strong choral tradition, will be made resound by choirs from entire Germany as well as three international choirs from Mexico, the Czech Republic and Hungary.

The “Popchor Mainstimmig” from Frankfurt belongs to the choirs that will attend the national choir competition organized by the anniversary choirs “Harmonie” and “Sängerkranz 1876”.

Conducted by Clemens Schäfer the Popchor Mainstimmig is focused on German speaking pop music. Therefore the repertoire includes many German pop songs like “Haus am See” by Peter Fox, “Ich lass für dich das Licht an” by Revolverheld as well as some English songs like “Happy” by Pharrell Williams or “Change the World” by Eric Clapton.

Currently, the choir consists of nearly 40 active members and belongs to the local choral association of the “Erster Allgemeiner Popchor Frankfurt e.V.”

During the Chorfest Watzenborn-Steinberg “Mainstimmig” will compete with the following repertoire: "True Colors" (Cyndi Lauper), "Die Gedanken sind frei (German folk song)" and "Sunday Lover" (Gregor Meyle/Guano Apes).

We are really curious about the performances of Mainstimmig!
