Closing of Sing'n'Pray Kobe 2018 united all participants

Grand finale with “Pray from Kobe” concert and Award Ceremony of Sing`n`Pray Kobe

Contemplative days with prayers and songs from all parts of the world have passed for participants of Sing'n'Pray Kobe 2018. During the ceremonious closing, which was attended by all participants of both events, the Mayor from Kobe, Kishizo Hisamoto, welcomed singers and guests and congratulated the competition choirs to their distinguished performances.

The last song of the “Pray from Kobe” concert, “Furosato” by the Spanish composer Javier Busto, was the main song of this event and sung by all participants together.  Fred Sjöberg, the General Artistic Director of INTERKULTUR and the Artistic Director of  Sing`n`Pray Kobe, who also acted as one of the international jurors, conducted this emotional and inspiring tune in the fully occupied Bunka Hall.

Afterwards the Award Ceremony of Sing`n`Pray Kobe, which was accompanied by a festive performance of three Japanese and three international choirs, followed and the results of the category Music of Spirit and Faith were announced.  In this category choirs were free to perform music of all religions, churches as well as general songs focusing on spirit and faith.

The Mukogawa Women`s University Senior High School Choir from Japan, conducted by Takako Okamoto, achieved the best result and was announced as the winner of Sing`n`Pray Kobe 2018. Furthermore one special prize was handed over: The international jury granted the honour as the “Most Promising Children`s Choir” of the event to the Wattana Childrens Chorus” from Thailand, conducted by Sathit Sukchongchaipruk. Altogether the Jury awarded 1 bronze diploma, 14 silver diplomas, and 6 golden diplomas.
