10.0000 Kilometers in order to sing in a country unknown until now

South African choir travels to the European Choir Games in put their choral skill to the test

European Choir Games 2017

From the North Cape in Africa to the Northern borders of Europe: The Kimberley Girls’ Choir incurred a long journey crossing nearly half of the world in order to sing in the Youth Choir Competition in Riga at the Grand Prix of Nations Riga 2017 3rd European Choir Games in Latvia. They performed three songs in Afrikaans, Dutch and English and mentioned that once on stage, all the stress they had previously disappeared at the moment they started singing.

On Friday they arrived in Latvia and so far they have enjoyed their stay in Riga though they did not know first of all what to expect from a country they never heard of before. The girls mentioned that the weather in Riga differs quite a lot from the South African climate and that people appear to be more reserved than in their home country. The next event they are looking forward to is the Folklore Competition and we wish them all the best for their performance which shall sweep the Latvians off their feet!

Here's their competition performances with "I'm Gonna Sing Till the Spirit Moves My Heart" by Moses Hogan, arranged by Peter A. Eklund:
