INTERKULTUR connects nations

German politician: Cultural exchange by choral music of high value

The work of INTERKULTUR connects in exemplary manner people from all over the world. The Hessian SPD chairperson Thorsten Schäfer-Gümbel represented this view in Beijing. The presidium member of SPD met with the former Chinese ambassador in Germany, Ma Canrong and with INTERKULTUR-President Günter Titsch for an exchange of views on the 12th of March. The business development of China and in particular the cultural cooperation between both countries were the main focuses of the talks. The partners spoke of a meeting in very amicable atmosphere.

The wide spectrum of the activities was acquainted to the Hessian politician by INTERKULTUR. The organisation is located in Pohlheim, Hesse. Titsch used the meeting in Beijing to stress the active cultural exchange by choral competitions. This should also occur in future and should be possibly intensified.

The INTERKULTUR-events and above all the World Choir Games contribute after statement of the German politician in a considerable measure to the fact that people from all over the world can be found in peaceful competition and experience. It is exemplary which bridges are built by choral music and how people from different nations could get closer to each other, stressed Schäfer-Gümbel. "This also earns furthermore big support."

The World Choir Games take place for the second time in China. In 2006 they were delivered in the city of Xiamen. In 2010 the international choir community will meet in the South-Chinese city of Shaoxing to the biggest choir competition.
