Xinghai Prize 2012

4x4 Frauenchor Heidelberg comes to China

4x4 Frauenchor der Pädagogischen Hochschule Heidelberg features on the 1st Xinghai Prize International Choir Championships in China.

Conducted by Heike Kiefner-Jesatko the choir already performed in front of international judges on most different stages.

Most recently the choir was to be seen singing and winning at the INTERKULTUR event “Venezia in Musica” in spring 2011, where the choir of 16 voices achieved the best evaluation amongst all participating groups.

Also they were on hand at the 6th International Robert Schumann Choir Competition & Festival 2010 in Zwickau, Germany. In addition to winning the Robert Schumann Choir Prize they were awarded with a Special Prize for the best interpretation of a piece by Robert Schumann.

The pieces they will come up with in November are not yet known; however, due to their wide repertoire of choir literature for women's voices from the 19th and 20th century there will be definitely the one or other piece to inspire judges as well as visitors from around the world.

The 1st Xinghai Prize International Choir Championships will be from November 8 to 14, 2012 in Guangzhou, China. Registration is still open until April 15, 2012.
