World Choral Day 2016

An international choral event to extol the values of solidarity, peace and understanding!

Latest news

On every second Sunday in December choirs around the world celebrate the World Choral Day. This year INTERKULTUR would also like to call for singing on the weekemd of December 11. No matter, whether in Christmas or Friendship Concerts, Singing Together events or choral workshops – every choir around the world is invited to join the choral project.

This year's World Choral Day is characterized by "integration". In particular, all those institutions will be honored which have brought up over the years and increasingly since the rise of refugees in Europe voluntary involvement to the integration of people from different cultures and regions and unite them in peaceful singing.

The World Choral Day is an initiative of Alberto Grau from the Latin American Vice-Presidency of the IFCM. Born by this idea, the IFCM has been calling for the initiative to convey the values of solidarity, peace and understanding.

Interested choirs and ensembles can register here and join the list of the participating groups, or upload their performance on Facebook or other social media channels including the tag #worldchoralday.

More information about the World Choral Day can be found on the event's website.
