Competitions & Festivals

After the official registration deadline last Monday the participating choirs of the Grand Prix of Nations Berlin in 2017, to be held from February 1-5, 2017, have been announced: 25 outstanding choirs from 12 different nations will present their skills on stage of the Chamber Music Hall at the Berliner Philharmonie.

Also eight choirs from the host country are on board, including the "Landesjugendchor Mecklenburg-Vorpommern", the "Kammerchor des Pestalozzi-Gymnasiums München" and the "Junge" Consortium Berlin".

More choral nations are Norway, Finland, Greece, Latvia, Lithuania and Sweden. Some choirs, such as the Kaari-ensemble or the Kammerkoret 'Aurum' participated in INTERKULTUR events several times already.

We especially look forward to the choirs „Coro de Secundaria del Colegio Northlands“ (Argentinia), „The Skyline Choir of Shenzhen Meilin High School“ (China), „Camerata Coral de la Facultad de Música de la Universidad Veracruzana“ (Mexico), “Gnesins' Ensemble of Contemporary Music ‘Altro coro’” (Russia) und den “Kantegh Folk Choir” (USA). All these choirs already performed on stages around the world and received international success. In spring they will make all a very long journey to the world metropolis Berlin to be part of the Grand Prix of Nations.

We can’t wait to listen to this creme de la creme of choral music.
