Sing`n`Pray Kobe 2018 starts in Japan

Yesterday, on 25th of January, in the “Kobe Bunka Hall” restaurant the opening reception for the representatives of the participating choirs in the International Choir Competition and Festival Sing`n`Pray Kobe 2018 took place.

The greetings of the Mayor of Kobe Mr. Kishizo Hisamoto were delivered by the representative Mr. Kitahata. The mayor in his greeting accented the importance of cross-cultural exchange events which are getting popular all across the world and that the International Choir Competition and Festival is a meaningful event for the city of Kobe.

The general artistic director of INTERKULTUR and artistic director of the competition Mr. Fred Sjöberg emphasized the significance of the event: "...it’s the first event of INTERKULTUR in Japan, and the first event in the year of INTERKULTUR`s 30th anniversary...".

Masihiro Kishimoto, the local artistic director of the event reminded a Japanese proverb: "The one who sings, prays twice". Therefore, following this wise – everyone joined in a common singing of the festivals theme song – “Furusato”, conducted by Mr. Saida the chairman of Hyogo prefecture choral association, which is the local partner organization of Sing`n`Pray Kobe 2018.

The reception was followed by exchange of opinions, creation of new friendships in informal and friendly atmosphere.
