The Schubert Society Wien-Lichtental and INTERKULTUR invite to the 30th anniversary of the famous Franz Schubert Choir Competition

2016 is an important year for Europe's capital of music. For the 30th time the International Franz Schubert Choir Competition in Vienna inspires friends of choral music from all parts of the world.

From May 4-8, 2016 singers, among others from Finland, Hungary, Ireland, Norway, the Philippines, Russia, South Africa and Austria will join the Sing'n'Joy Vienna 2016 - 3rd Choir Festival & 30th International Franz Schubert Choir Competition. The Sing'n'Joy concept focuses on the traditional Schubert competition, but also features intercultural meetings and the participation at the Sing Along Concert.

The international participating choirs will compete in all in all 13 categories in magnificent venues in the heart of Austrian's capital, such as the Konzerthaus Vienna, the Schubertkirche or the Minoritenkirche.

In honor of the competition's patron Franz Schubert, his mess No. 6 flat major will be performed by interested choirs, individual singers as well as the Berlin Radio Choir under the direction of Simon Halsey. This Sing Along Concert will take place as part of festival on May 8, 2016 and is the big finale of the Sing'n'Joy Vienna 2016.

The Sing'n'Joy Vienna 2016 - 3rd Choir Festival & 30th International Franz Schubert Choir Competition is organized by INTERKULTUR and the Schubert Society Wien-Lichtental. Until December 14, 2015 interested choirs have the chance to register for the anniversary edition of the Franz Schubert Choir Competition.
