Singers going south

Chamber Choir SonorEnsemble travels to the choir competition in Málaga

Canta en Primavera - Festival Coral Internacional

"Travelling to the South" (German “Ab in den Süden”) not only is the title of a well-known German pop song, it is also reality for many participants of the Choir Festival Canta en Primavera. While in April in the north and in the middle of Europe everything starts to waken from the winter sleep, in the Andalusian metropolis of Málaga the pure life is still flourishing. Even before the official registration deadline ends on Monday, December 12, international choirs are on board and ready to compete in the Canta en Primavera - Festival Coral Internacional in April in Europe’s warm south.

One of the participating choirs is the Chamber Choir SonorEnsemble from Helsinki. The 21-member ensemble and its conductor Hanna Remes attach great importance to a sonorous sound, a vocal harmony as well as an expressive performance during their traditional concerts in summer and winter. With a colorful program ranging from classic to pop and jazz, the singers not only enchant the local audience, they also perform on international stage. Because of the successful participation in the Int. Johannes Brahms Choir Festival and Competition 2013 in Wernigerode the ensemble received valuable competition experience.

We are looking forward to welcome the singers of the SonorEnsemble at the 3rd Canta en Primavera - Festival Coral Internacional in Málaga.

Interested choirs that wish to join the Finnish ensemble can still register until 12 December. All information can be found here.
