Magical Hoi An is a place you’ll have to see for yourself

Vietnam International Choir Competition

Hoi An, a cozy town in Central Vietnam turns into the beating heart of choral music from all over the world every two years during the Vietnam International Choir Competition. Literally being translated as “peaceful meeting place”, Hoi An is an ideal destination and warm host for international choirs.

The city’s highlight is its ancient Old Town, a UNESCO world heritage since 1999 being “an exceptionally well-preserved example of South-East Asian trading port dating from the 15th to 19th century. Its buildings and its street plan reflect the influences, both indigenous and foreign”, as it is stated on UNESCO’s website.

Hoi An’s Old Town is a great setting for the Vietnam International Choir Competition – in 2015 it was the venue for Friendship Concerts, the Choir Parade through narrow streets and for an Open Air choir party on Sông Hoài Square, located at the entrance to the Old Town, directly at the Thu Bồn River.

By the way, in each 14th day of each Lunar Month, Hoi An is also celebrating the Full Moon Latern Festival in its old town. During the 5th Vietnam International Choir Competition, this event will happen on June 8, 2017. You can expect a wonderful evening of lights and a truly magical atmosphere:
