Great ambience, many concerts and a shower of prizes

Participating in Europe’s most colorful choir festival in Wernigerode will pay off

Wernigerode – the colorful city in the Harz region – is one of the most beautiful little towns in Germany. Every two years it’s the wonderful backdrop for the International Johannes Brahms Choir Festival & Competition. For many choirs worldwide it has become an impressive symbol of a high-level competition, as well as of a colorful folklore from around the world and exciting concerts.

On the occasion of the festival’s 10th edition in summer 2017 top-class choral ensembles like amarcord and the Kammerchor Wernigerode will do the honors and lend the celebration an appropriate setting. The competition participants will experience a shower of prizes at the end of the event. The best choirs can sing in the competition for the Johannes Brahms Choir Prize 2017, which will be rewarded with a 2000 € prize money.

Further the jury might award Special Prizes to outstanding conductors and performances. The Conductors Prize is endowed with a 300€ bonus, further Special Prizes come along with a prize money of 150€.

But that’s not all: During the whole event the audience can vote for their favorite choir to be awarded the Audience Prize. The choir getting most of the votes will receive the prize at the last festival day during the Awards Ceremony.
