Music School of Corfu Choir attends the 1st Corfu International Festival and Choir Competition
Only two weeks left until 25 choirs from 6 nations will gather for the 1st Corfu International Festival and Choir Competition in Corfu. So it’s time to take a look at the participating choirs.
One of them is the Music School of Corfu Choir. The mixed choir is comprised of students of the Music School of Corfu, aged between 12-17 years. The choir is conducted by the director of the School, Dr. Costas Zervopoulos.
During the last five years, the choir has participated as workshop choir in the "3rd Music Academy" 2012 organized by the Ionian University in Corfu, under the direction of the Spanish conductor Basilio Astulez. Furthermore the singers sang in many concerts in Corfu and in choir festivals in Greece. The group was awarded as “Outstanding Choir” in the "6th School Choirs Festival" in Karditsa, Greece. In 2014 the choir participated in the "Aleksandar Morfidis Nisis" 1st International Competition for choirs in Novi Sad, Serbia and won the 2nd prize in the category mixed choirs.
