Andris Ameriks’ reasons for being the perfect host city in 2017
In Magdeburg 2015, the flag of the European Choir Games was handed over by INTERKULTUR President Günter Titsch to the host city of Riga, represented by Vice-Mayor Andris Ameriks. After the successful World Choir Games 2014 the Latvian capital will once again become the cultural center of the international choral scene in 2017 by hosting the Grand Prix of Nations and 3rd European Choirs Games.
Andris Ameriks is proud of his home Latvia, one of the most traditional countries in Europe. In Magdeburg he has promised to choirs from all over the world to give them an insight into the country’s traditions when they come to Riga as well as to facilitate an exchange between cultures and countries.
