Two Men’s Choirs from Romania are ready for Sochi

INTERKULTUR presents the participating choirs of the World Choir Games 2016

Choir Spotlight

Only a few weeks left until the 9th World Choir Games 2016 in Sochi will start. In order to shorten the waiting time INTERKULTUR wants to introduce the choirs, which will attend the Olympics of choral music. The following choirs, both male choirs from Romania already took part in various INTEKRULTUR events.

The Orthodox Male Choir Armonia is the one who won the first prize in the category "Male Chamber Choirs" in Riga 2014, during the 8th edition of the World Choir Games. Before Easter this year, they did a tour with a special Oratorio. The Oratorio "In that time" was written for soloists, choir and orchestra in 1960 by Ion Popescu Runcu an important Romanian priest, composer and conductor.

Ion Iulian Dumitru, the conductor, mentioned that they are getting ready for the 9th edition of the World Choir Games in Sochi this year. Working hard and disciplined between concerts and jobs, they pray to God to be with them once again and to watch over them.

Cantus Domini

Same time, the male choir Cantus Domini conducted by Razvan Constantin Stefan is very active and motivated to come to Sochi. Many people appreciate their artistic activity which constantly improves in concerts and other performances. Looking back, it’s possible to say that determination is the key to their achievement.

Both choirs, the Orthodox Male Choir Armonia and Cantus Domini attended each edition of the World Choir Games since 2012. Their artistic level is high, amongst others because of their continuous and sustained artistic activity. Both conductors told that they already feel very comfortable when attending an INTERKULTUR event and are very curious to come to Sochi for the biggest choral event – the upcoming World Choir Games 2016.

We are delighted to celebrate the international festival of choral music together with the choirs from Romania.
