Competing with international Champions in Tshwane 2018

Distinguished Linden Choir is ready for the next level

World Choir Games 2018

The Linden Choir from the Hoërskool Linden in the north of Johannesburg in South Africa has a long tradition of charming audiences since 24 years. During this time it developed a tradition of outstanding performances and succeeded in many competitions on provincial and national level. These achievements result from its demanding rehearsal routine, over 20 performances per year and of course their inspiring conductor Mr. Duncan Fourie.

CD recordings, TV appearances, competitions and musicals – although the Linden Choir is financially funded solely by parents and the local community, this strong support enables the around 90 singers to accomplish the full range of choral activities and showcase their choral talent on national and international stages. Since its start, the choir enters into the NEA Eisteddfod (National Eisteddfod of South Africa) and regularly returns home with top results.

In 2018 the Linden Choir wants to put their repertoire and singing skills to the test on another kind of competition level: At the World Choir Games in Tshwane, South Africa, they will line up for the categories Mixed Youth Choirs, Musica Sacra and Music of Spirit and Faith and compete against international choirs from all over the world: Newcomers, old stagers, multiple gold medallists and many more.
