Updates on Guangzhou Festival Choir

Registration now open for individuals

As reported earlier there will be an International Festival Choir performing at this year’s INTERKULTUR competition in the South Chinese city of Guangzhou (November 8 to 14, 2012).

Also individual singers are welcome and have the chance to be involved in this part of the event. Who doesn’t want to be part of an international choir and play an active role in the Closing concert of the 1st Xinghai Prize International Choir Championships?

Registration for participation is open for individuals from February 15 to May 31. Application is especially attractive, because INTERKULTUR will cover all local costs (accomodation and catering).

Singers who will have been selected by the Artistic committee will practise the concert program together on site and perform in a special concert on November 12, 2012. The choir will be accompanied by the Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra and is conducted by Gábor Hollerung. Hollerung is one of INTERKULTUR’s Artistic directors and at several competitions he already introduced the big joint concert to International Festival Choirs – resulting in an excellent performance!

Guangzhou, China, is host city of the 1st Xinghai Prize International Choir Championships. INTERKULTUR, based in Pohlheim, Germany is looking forward to welcome choirs from around the world to this new competition series. Apart from competitions there will also be seminars and workshops as well as a symposium in the frame of the event. A seminar week for choral conductors in March 2012 will be kick-off for these pedagogical offers.
