This season’s spring
Riva has been opened warming and colourfully
In these days INTERKULTUR experiences spring so to say twice. With spring-like temperatures the “Concorso Corale Internazionale” is taking place in Riva del Garda. At the same time the competitions in the Italian city are the hearts and senses warming beginning of this year’s choral season, where INTERKULTUR expects singers from all over the world at seven events on three continents. Piroska Horváth’s and Ralf Eisenbeiß’ INTERKULTUR team can be quite satisfied with the result of their preparatory work. In the competitions in Riva ensembles from 13 nations perform in front of a jury in the categories sacred music, a cappella and children’s and youth choirs. In the light of this response the mayor of the city, Claudio Molinari, was quite excited about the charisma of this INTERKULTUR event that radiates into the worldwide choir community.
The good atmosphere and the colourful panorama of the setting have been really contagious to the representatives of a delegation from the U.S. as well. The choir parade with the flags of the participating nations was putting a spell on them. The group from Cincinnati used the opening event of INTERKULTUR to get a little foretaste of the upcoming events of larger dimension. The guests were very impressed by the opening event in the gorgeous rotunda of the auditorium of the Chiesa San Giuseppe in the evening. In 2012 the biggest choir competition of INTERKULTUR, the World Choir Games, will be hold in Cincinnati, USA. The romantic Lake of Garda provides the setting for the Concorso Corale Internazionale during the Holy Week from March 29 to April 1, 2010.
