What do people sing in November?
In November 2012 the 1st Xinghai Prize International Choir Championships will be held. The “Xinghai Event Song” has been presented to the organizers.
An INTERKULTUR delegation headed up by Wang Qin, Director INTERKULTUR China, has been for business talks in Guangzhou since Monday. On Wednesday for the first time ever they listened to the official event song of the competition.
Content of the song is Guangzhou, home town of composer Xian Xinghai, and its beautiful characteristics, the musical understanding of its inhabitants and the nature of its surroundings. Guangzhou as host city of the musical world warmly welcomes all nations.
The catchy melody is written by the young composer Sui Xiao Feng. To make sure that not only Chinese choirs will understand an English version of the text is to come soon.
The piece will be sounding at various occasions, for example at Opening and Closing ceremonies, also there will be some other opportunities to hear this song sung by all voices.
Currently other songs can be heard, as the conductors seminar in Guangzhou is taking place until March 17, 2012. In the evening the big closing concert will take place. A record number of more than 220 choir conductors is taking part. Singing and musicality are meeting with great enthusiasm.
The 1st Xinghai Prize International Choir Championships are in Guangzhou, China from November 8 to 14, 2012. Registration deadline is April 15.
