Lineups announced for Celebration Concerts
Former Champions will perform
The lineup of choirs scheduled for the eight Celebration Concerts during the 2012 World Choir Games have been announced including eight former Champions of the World Choir Games (WCG) as well as new voices from most different countries. They will perform an exciting and varied repertoire.
The themed concerts feature, for example, “Musica Sacra” (July 5) or “Energy of Youth” (July 8).
The choirs were selected by INTERKULTUR in a long process. “We just received the final confirmation last night, and we’re so excited to let people know the spectacular choirs they will see at these shows,” said Jelena Dannhauer, project manager for INTERKULTUR. “We have choirs from 13 different countries and some really exciting groups from the United States scheduled for the Celebration Concerts. These will all be great performances fans will enjoy very much.”
The 7th World Choir Games will be from July 4 to 14 in Cincinnati USA. There will be 15,000 participants from 64 countries and 22 U.S. states, including 362 choirs, 61 judges, choral and INTERKULTUR officials.
This year the WCG will be held on the American continent for the very first time. The 8th World Choir Games will be held in Riga, Latvia in 2014.
