"Lalá" and "Hard-Chor" close the event
Group from Linz awarded with Choir Prize
On Saturday evening (June 4) the 3rd International Anton Bruckner Choir Competition and Festival 2011 has come to a close.
Impressive and inspiring acoustic experiences of eight different groups have been offered in the Brucknerhaus and was rewarded with thunderous applause and cheering from the audience. When the winners of the competitions were announced it brought the audience to its feet, especially when the Grand Prize was given to a local hero, "Lalá Vocalensemble" from Linz.
More Golden Diplomas were awarded to finalists from the Philippines, Finland, Denmark, Austria, the USA and Singapore - including the vocal ensemble "Hard-Chor", another choir from the host city of Linz.
This year's competition attracted a total of 20 choirs from 14 countries. Within the last few days participants from all over were able to make the typical experience of an INTERKULTUR competition: singing together brings people together, winning is not everything!
The next international choir competition of the INTERKULTUR event series will take place in Rome in July 2011. The next Anton Bruckner Choir Competition and Festival will bring the choirs back to Linz in 2013.
