INTERKULTUR at ITB
Partner agencies: wanderlust to Asia rises
Despite the global economic crisis international tourism experts expect an increase of journeys to Asia. INTERKULTUR could benefit from this progress for future choir events in Asia. This fact was signalled by agents of partner agencies and INTERKULTUR representatives on the International Tourism Exchange (ITB) in Berlin. The present developments and current plans of INTERKULTUR met with a positive response from different countries in this region. The Asian business partners stressed that these plans could be excellently combined with the Asian choirs' preferences. In the opinion of both sides these latest trends will also raise the interest in going abroad to international choir competitions.
The project planning of INTERKULTUR in Asia in near future might follow the same line: From May 31 to June 7 the Malaysian Choral Eisteddfod will take place in Kuala Lumpur. In July he 6th World Choir Games will summon the choirs to China. Partner agencies from India, Sri Lanka, Myanmar and Hong Kong signalled their intention to intensify their activities.
The ITB which takes place every year beat the record of 11 127 exhibitors this year (March 10-14). This fact can be seen as a sign of increasing wanderlust. The ITB is considered to be one of the most important seismographs of the global travel industry.
